Parent-teacher night
Here I am at my desk with no parents in the room. I can't believe it! This is my HUGE class too -- 27 11th graders. I'm really surprised at how few parents have showed up tonight. I wasn't too shocked that nobody showed up for my low-level seniors, but I am surprised about the other classes.
However, this is definitely better than last year, during my student teaching. My co-op teacher wussed out on me, and I had to do parent-teacher night all by myself after being at the school for only two weeks. THAT was scary. Each ten minute period felt like hours. I ran out of things to say after about three minutes and blushed for the remaining seven. At least the classes are going by quickly tonight!
I would also like to state that I am intensely disappointed by the snacks here tonight. I went down to the cafeteria during my planning period to sample what turned out to be the worst cookies I've ever had. *long pause* I'm trying my damnest to come up with a cookie brand name pun that includes how terrible they were. Five bucks to whoever thinks of one for me.
I guess I'll go make copies for tomorrow.
